4. TIMES - February 19, 1906

Just prior to the time when the British Garrison was to leave Victoria to return to England, there was an article in the TIMES titled: “NAVAL ESTABLISHMENT AT ESQUIMALT – HISTORY OF”. If you have any information re this article, please email opcmh@telus.net.

In the Islander there is an article titled “When the Fifth Invaded Seattle” by James C. Nesbitt. It is about his visit to 1 PPCLI at Work Point Barracks and some history of the Fifth Regiment in 1898. If you have any information re this article, please email opcmh@telus.net.

8. “HISTORY OF MILITIA AND DEFENCE OF BC 1871-1914” by PG Silverman 1956.

9. When the Veteran’s Pavilion at the Royal Jubilee Hospital ceased to operate, two commemorative plaques in the “Patricia Room” were removed and their where-abouts are unknown. If you know where they are the PPCLI Association in Victoria would like to recover them. The inscriptions read:
To the memory of all ranks Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry 1914 – 1918, 1939 – 1945, this room is furnished by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Regiment’s Esquimalt Branch 1947.

This room was refurbished by the PPCLI Association Victoria Branch and serving members of the PPCLI Regiment in memory of those who gave their lives in the Korean conflict 1950 – 1953.

10. FROM THE ATTIC - April 22, 2020

I am looking for a copy of the 1975 / 1976 and the 1996 “PATRICIAN,” the annual publication of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. This regimental publication, initially called the “ESQUIMALT PATRICIAN” started in 1934 at Work Point Barracks, and was issued every year except a break from 1939 to 1952. They are online at ppcli.com for those wishing to read them. I have some duplicates of the years 1959 to 2013 if anyone would like to read a hard copy. Please email me at opcmh@telus.net.

14. THE 48TH SUBMARINE MINING COMPANY AT ESQUIMALT – 1900 - 1906. Written by Don Carmichael, 441 Moresby Road, Esquimalt, B.C. Dated January 6, 1965.
